ABSTRACT

This article is based on an experimental study in the form of motivation training from Islamic perspective. The training module is developed with the assumption that human being is a creature of Allah and cannot get away from the Will of Allah but yet they are endowed with freedom to choose. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of the Islamic Motivation Training to the stability of anchors. The training was conducted in a one-day activities, that consist of presentation, reflection, discussion, and video illustrations. The stability of anchors was measured with The Anchor Personality InventoryTM. The participants of the experiment were 29 professionals.

From 29 participants only 21 of them completed the pre-test and post-test questionnaire. The result of the study showed that there is a significant increase of the stability of anchors (t=3.83; p<0.01) and also of spiritual dimension (t=5.02; p<0.01). On interpersonal dimension there is no significant difference between pre-test and post-test (t=.59; p>0.05). The results shows that Islamic Motivation Training can improve the trainee’s stability of anchors. The stability of anchors is a argued to be a stronger and more long lasting motivational force rather than self-esteem.
